Associate professor of English David James Poissant was honored with a Luminary Award, granted to faculty members who are leaders in their fields and conducting work that has had a significant impact on the world.

As the City Beautiful’s official storyteller, Shawn Welcome ’17 will present original poems at local events to inspire other artists in the community.

Mark Brotherton’s indelible impact on his students will live on in the form of the Mark Brotherton Memorial Scholarship in Theatre.

Kenneth Hanson, professor and program director of Judaic Studies, was invested into the Tess and Abe Wise Endowed Professorship in Judaic Studies. The endowed faculty position recognizes Hanson’s accomplishments and will allow him to advance his work and research.

After conducting research about East African history at UCF, Luis Santana Garcia ’21MA’s time in Malawi allowed him to learn more the culture of the region firsthand.

The collection of artwork donated by the Leibels is valued at $5.2 million. “We have always had great respect for UCF and the role it plays in the community and hope this gift will benefit the university from an educational and financial aspect for years to come,” says Steve. The collection — 3,260 pieces of unframed lithographs — isn’t just big in size. Its impact on the college, students and the UCF Gallery will be huge.

Theatre M.A. graduate Ramon Paradoa ’20MA has spent years developing his creative career through events such as Halloween Horror Nights.

In the next month, the College of Arts and Humanities will offer a wide variety of information sessions and open houses related to our various degree programs.

TD Bank has teamed up with UCF’s School of Visual Arts and Design to select student artwork to be featured in a new UCF campus store opening this month.
