Visiting professor Yanek Mieczkowski was recently recorded by C-SPAN 3 to be featured on its series titled “Lectures in History.”
Mieczkowski specializes in 20th century U.S. history and teaches courses that cover presidential, diplomatic, economic, social and cultural history. The most recent airing will be Mieczkowski’s fourth CSPAN appearance.
His most recent CSPAN feature covers his “U.S. History: Since 1877” course. In a lecture titled “The Mavericks,” Mieczkowski focused on post-World War II maverick designer Harley Earl and automobile manufactures Preston Tucker, John DeLorean and Elon Musk. These figures are credited within automobile history for designing cars in new ways.
The class aired on C-SPAN 3 on Saturday, April 28. Mieczkowski’s course explored individuals who challenged the U.S. auto industry status quo from post-World War II era to present day. Throughout the lectures Mieczkowski discussed both the successes and failures of people such as Harley Earl and Elon Musk.
