Art history student Gaby van Ravenswaay has been awarded the Barbato Fellowship for Graduate Study at Case Western University
One of the largest awards given at the university, the fellowship covers tuition and includes a stipend. Gaby will continue the work she started at UCF on Northern Baroque art with Catherine Scallen, CWU’s Andrew Mellon Professor of the Humanities.
Gaby’s honors-in-the-major thesis entitled, “Subjects of the Gaze: Rubens and his Female Portraits,” chaired by Dr. Ilenia Colon Mendoza, has been submitted to the UCF Showcase of Undergraduate Research Excellence to be held on April 6. Gaby’s research highlights the unique ways in which UCF students achieve success through creative academic inquiry.
