UCF’s School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD) celebrates the achievements of faculty, alumni and students as they unleash their potential in various creative endeavors. Join us in recognizing them for their efforts within the art field this winter.
SVAD student Valeria Fajardo will be the very first intern to curate and mount an exhibition at the Orlando Museum of Art. Fajardo was previously recognized in Art Bytes: Spring 2023 for introducing and supplying Spanish translations to the museum, increasing accessibility for the community. The exhibition, written by Fajardo herself, will debut after Thanksgiving in the museum’s Cotton Gallery.
Pegasus Magazine’s Fall 2023 edition featured a spread covering the recent accomplishments of Experimental Animation alumni Ingrid Aguero ‘07 ‘08MS. As the environment director for the Electronic Arts (EA) SPORTS Madden NFL Franchise, Aguero oversees the creation of 3D assets.
After having to pause her UCF journey in 1978 to enter the workforce, 72-year-old SVAD student Jayne Alcorn is graduating this December with her bachelor’s degree in Art, Studio Track. With help from a few kind classmates, Jayne has been able to get accustomed to the new technology and changes that have occurred over the years.
UCF’s Limbitless Solutions, the research facility dedicated to bionic arm design, was recently featured at the 2023 Adobe Max conference in Los Angeles, California. Limbitless also held an art exhibit in Adobe’s “Creative Park,” in which several SVAD undergraduate students and past Limbitless bionic kids participated.
