The application deadline for applications for the 2020 Pabst Steinmetz Foundation Arts & Wellness Innovation Awards has been extended to December 4 at noon. The two awards of $25,000 each were founded in 2018 by philanthropists Chuck Steinmetz and Margery Pabst Steinmetz and are awarded to cross-disciplinary teams focused on the area of arts and wellness.
The purpose of the Pabst Steinmetz Foundation Arts & Wellness Innovation Awards is to build sustainable models for arts and wellness innovation both across the community and UCF campus. Interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence based community impact will be recognized as guides for building sustainability.
Collaborative projects that addressed HIV stigma and improved wheelchair mobility were the 2019 awardees: “Creative Approaches to Combat HIV Stigma and Discrimination from Health Providers” and “Project Xavier Hands-free Training Game.” For 2020, the panel of judges is particularly interested in projects related to COVID-19.
“By supporting innovative, interdisciplinary art projects, our goal is to inspire and build community,” says Margery Pabst Steinmetz. “We’ve seen success in our inaugural years and I look forward to watching these partnerships flourish.”
