School of Visual Arts and Design alumna Cheryl Tall ’74 will display her artwork at the Sparks Gallery March 12-April 30. “…Tall uses narrative figurative sculpture and paintings to create a whimsical, yet sentimental commentary on the experience of being human in the modern age,” says Sparks Gallery.
The exhibition, titled Dramatis Personae, meaning “cast of characters” in Latin, refers to Tall’s colorful troupe of sculptural characters portrayed in her art. Her works are constructed from a variety of mediums, including clay, tile and paint and focuses on the relationships between people and their surroundings.
