Abby Jaros ’14, musical theatre alumna and original cast member of the Hamilton Philip tour was awarded UCF’s 30 Under 30. Jaros has been an incredibly active alumni mentor to current theatre students: she regularly offers to host current students visiting the city, organizes mentoring meetings and workshops, and introduces visitors to other UCF alumni, Broadway performers, agents, casting directors and production personnel. She also has been instrumental in helping to organize the UCF theatre department alumni club in New York City to serve as mentors, many of whom have visited campus and offered workshops about their current jobs, living in New York City, how to get auditions and the process for getting an agent.
“Tonight I was recognized by my alma mater for UCF’s fifth annual 30 Under 30 awards,” Jaros wrote. “It is an honor to stand among this year’s recipients, all incredible leaders making our school proud all over the world.”
The 30 Under 30 awards program recognizes outstanding young alumni who continue to “Reach for the Stars” in their professional and personal lives since graduating from the University of Central Florida. Young alumni currently account for one third of our alumni population, making them our largest constituent base. The 30 Under 30 awards program seeks to connect young alumni to the UCF community. This spring, the UCF community will celebrate the achievements of these individuals and the impact they have made in their profession, community, and the university post commencement.
