EXHIBITION: Surfaces

Location: UCF Art Gallery

 

SURFACES  is an exhibition of light and sound featuring some of the best films, projections, video art, and interactive installations from Orlando and beyond. This curated event explores the relationship between artist-created visuals and the surfaces used to bring these visuals to life, and takes place annually at the UCF Art Gallery and Film Cinema at the University of Central Florida.

SURFACES 2.0 will take place at the UCF Art Gallery from February 3-7, 2017. The event includes an expanded installation of  interactive and performance-based works throughout the Gallery and a special one-day looping program of single-channel video works for a 455-seat theater.

 

OPENING RECEPTION:

Friday, February 3

6:00 pm to 11:00 pm

 

SPECIAL SCREENING & PANEL DISCUSSION:

Sunday, February 5

7:00 pm to 10:00 pm

Doors open at 6:30 pm, screening at 7:00 pm following a panel discussion at 8:30 pm. The UCF Art Gallery will also be OPEN, adjacent to the film screening to view SURFACES installations during this Special Screening. VAB 132 Auditorium

About Surfaces:
Kate Shults is the Film Area Coordinator and Lecturer of Film at SVAD and specializes in low-budget, and DIY video production, exhibition culture, and history.

 

Ginger Leigh graduated from UCF in 2004 w/ BA in Digital Media and is currently an Instructor of Digital Arts at Full Sail University in Orlando, FL.
