Location: UCF Art Gallery
UCF Art Gallery, Russian-American Community Center of Florida and UCF Russian Culture Club to hold an exhibition to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II and its Florida-based, American and Soviet Veterans. Historic photographs of WWII and interpretive panels will be presented from Saturday, March 21- Sunday, March 22.
Gallery Hours for this Exhibit:
- Saturday, March 21 – 10am-6pm
- Sunday, March 22 – 11am-4pm
The reception will be held on Saturday, March 21st from 3-5 pm refreshments will be served. Veterans will be present.
Aleksandra Vargas, a celebrated vocalist will perform war classics at the opening.
This exhibition is a part of “A Relay of Remembrance,” series of events held in Orlando, St. Pete., Tampa and Miami culminating on May 9 with wreath-laying ceremony at the “Spirit of the Elbe” plaque at the Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC.
The Russian-American Community Center is also collecting stories, and photos of relatives who have served in WWII, which will be published in special composite book “One Victory for All” and in Florida Russian Lifestyle Magazine, a highly influential online publication. They are also seeking Russian and American WWII veterans who currently live in Florida.
