Maintaining Paradise

Photography students collaborate with Atlantic Center for the Arts Community Artists-in-Residence to produce two exhibitions and a publication.

Erin Charpentier and Travis Neel are the Community Artists-in-Residence at the Atlantic Center for the Arts. The collaborators have been working on an interdisciplinary project called Maintaining Paradise. The project documents the everyday experience of working in a tourist and retirement destination.

Over the course of a semester, twenty one students in the UCF BS in Photography degree program on the Daytona Beach campus collaborated with Erin and Travis and have contributed work to the Maintaining Paradise publication and dual photography exhibitions.

The work will be on display in Gallery 202 on the Daytona Beach campus in building 530 (Photography Hall) from November 24, 2015 through January 23, 2016. The Gallery 202 opening reception is Tuesday, November 24 from 5 – 7 PM.

The publication release and exhibition from Maintaining Paradise will be at the Harris House on December 5, 2015 from 4 – 7 PM.
