Dr. Kirk St.Amant, Professor and the Eunice C. Williamson Endowed Chair in Technical Communication at Louisiana Technical University, visited the University of Central Florida (UCF) campus on April 11, 2017, to speak with students and faculty in the Texts and Technology Doctoral Program, as well as to perform other on-site activities. Two students in the Texts and Technology Ph.D. program sat down with Dr. St.Amant and were able to gain insight on some of the emerging trends in the field of technical communication. Namely, Dr. St.Amant described the changing role of technical communicators and its impact on the profession, international communications, healthcare communications, and the academy. Dr. St.Amant’s diverse career in the technical communication field and as a professor enables him to offer valuable knowledge in the technical communication discipline.
