This year, 11 music students have been awarded scholarships to recognize their academic achievements, musical ability and contributions to the UCF School of Performing Arts. The awards were announced at the Spring Music Honors Forum held virtually this year.

Presser Foundation Scholarship $4000 for winner, $1000 runner-up
The Presser Foundation Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding UCF music student at the end of the junior year.

The Performance Excellence Award $1500 for winner, $500 runner-up
This scholarship is awarded to a winner and runner-up chosen by three outside judges in an open competition.

This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding sophomore music student.
Kaili Gruwell, oboe
Sandy Jones Memorial Opera Award $1000
This scholarship is awarded in memory of Sandy Jones, remembered as our “UCF Opera Angel,” to a student who has made special contributions to UCF Opera.
Lisamarie Guadalupe, voice
The Jose Fernandez Scholarship $500
This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding piano student.

DR. GALE SPERRY MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP $500
This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding UCF freshman music student.
Michael Mortilla, percussion
JOHN R. QUELLO MEMORIAL MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP $500
This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding UCF music student.

EDGAR WARREN “JACK” WILLIAMS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP $500
This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding UCF music education student.
Taylor Koffinas, trombone
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Man of Music Scholarship Criteria $500
This award recognizes a male student that exemplifies high quality in work ethic and performance. The award will be presented by the Mu Eta Phi Mu Alpha Faculty Adviser at the Annual Honors Forum.
