The U.S. Department of Education awarded a grant of $184,000 to UCF Latin American Studies to enhance its degree programs. The proposal, “America: Believing in Cultural Diversity,” will develop nine new projects throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, providing students with new opportunities to expand their knowledge of Latin America through short-term programs, internships and in-service programs.
The new grant builds on a previous U.S. DOE grant for $148,000, “America: Bridging the Continents,” which was awarded in 2014 and resulted in a number of new opportunities for students to study in Latin America and improve native Spanish language skills in a Spanish Heritage program in southern Spain.
