UCF animation alumni worked behind the scenes on some of the biggest movies from the last decade.

Rudy McDaniel ’99,’01MA,’03,’04PhD, director of the School of Visual Arts and Design for five years, has been reappointed as director.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, the UCF Art Gallery hosted exhibitions and programming both in person and online that examined cultural and social contexts while supporting contemporary art practices.

Animation Career Review has ranked the UCF School of Visual Arts and Design No. 2 among the nation’s top public animation schools and colleges in 2021.

Robert Rivers, professor of art at the School of Visual Arts and Design, was named the winner of the 2021 Florida Prize in Contemporary Art.

Summer 2021 Grad Walk takes place August 4–6 and three in-person commencement ceremonies will be held August 7.

UCF professor Robert Rivers is among the finalists and is the overall Florida Prize winner for 2021. The exhibition is on view from June 4 – August 22 at the Orlando Museum of Art.

For 12 years, the J.R. Hopes Scholarship has given UCF art students the resources they need to reach their full potential and has benefitted over 50 students. This year’s scholarship winners are Vito Angelo Silecchia, Sierra Fuentes, Emily Harnett, Kai Schulz, Gianni Vazquez and Eileen Zelaya.

A studio art student with a concentration in photography has been selected to exhibit in the 32nd Annual University Student Exhibition presented by the Atlantic Center for the Arts.
