The College of Arts and Humanities extends a welcome to new and familiar faces during the transition of some critical administrative and staff roles.

UCF awarded 22 faculty in the arts and humanities promotion and tenure. Consideration for promotion and tenure takes nearly an entire academic year as faculty are evaluated on three main areas: research, teaching and service.

Historian Tiffany Earley-Spadoni’s research on the rise and fall of near East fortresses is receiving support from funders, including the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Associate Dean Lynn Hepner ’95MA is retiring from UCF on August 7. Her ability to anticipate the needs of the college and to provide the right data at the right time has made her invaluable to CAH.

This year, the 11-day festival known as UCF Celebrates the Arts is back and bigger than ever before.

“We asked for a ‘little help from our friends’ this year, and our friends delivered,” says Jeff Moore, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities.

The annual festival brings musicians, theater practitioners and visual artists from the UCF campus to the Central Florida community in an array of offerings including jazz, dance, musical theater, opera, symphony, bands, visual arts, talks, choirs, family events and more.

The Women in Science course looks at the history of American and European women who have pursued scientific endeavors from the 19th century forward.

Started in 2015, UCF Celebrates the Arts continues to grow with this year’s festival. Here, representing various artistic genres, are five key programs at the festival to check out.

Four UCF professors examined the COVID-19 pandemic and drew comparisons by exploring historical contexts of past epidemics in the United States on Friday.
