During UCF Football’s home opening game, Rachel Marks, lecturer in the Department of Writing and Rhetoric was awarded as Academic Success Partner of the Game.

The UCF College of Arts and Humanities’ annual staff awards recognize employees who have delivered exemplary service to their department, the university and the community.

In 2014, UCF Professor of Creative Writing David James Poissant published, “The Heaven of Animals: Stories” a collection of short stories. These stories have been transformed onto the silver screen with Spanish director Santi Amodeo adapting Poissant’s work into film and is titled, “El Cielo de los Animales.”

UCF Student Kendal Asbury was selected for a prestigious internship at the New York Times through the Dow Jones News Fund summer internship program.

The College of Arts and Humanities is proud to celebrate the success and achievements of our faculty.

The 2025 Reach for the Stars award recipients are recognized for conducting highly successful research and fostering creative activity that has a national or international impact.

Faculty, staff and students from the College of Arts and Humanities being recognized at UCF’s Founders Day on April 2.

The program awarded a total of $500,000 to 21 new projects. Two of the projects are led by humanities researchers.
