Stella Sung’s piece, Starbursts, was performed by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra for their last concert of the season in its classic series.

Isabella Moreno, Delaney Kreidler and Casey Mueller first met as highschoolers attending the 2019 Pre-College Animation Intensive held by the UCF Center for Research and Education in Arts, Technology and Entertainment (CREATE). A few years later, all three students were accepted to the university’s competitive character animation program.

Renowned composer and Pegasus Professor Stella Sung shares the importance of integrating science and the arts, as well as her research on using virtual and augmented reality in the classical concert setting.

The College of Arts and Humanities extends a welcome to new and familiar faces during the transition of some critical administrative and staff roles.

This year, the 11-day festival known as UCF Celebrates the Arts is back and bigger than ever before.

“We asked for a ‘little help from our friends’ this year, and our friends delivered,” says Jeff Moore, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities.

Pegasus Professor Stella Sung’s composition “Oceana: Sounds of the Sea” will invite patrons at UCF Celebrates the Arts into a story they will never forget.

The annual festival brings musicians, theater practitioners and visual artists from the UCF campus to the Central Florida community in an array of offerings including jazz, dance, musical theater, opera, symphony, bands, visual arts, talks, choirs, family events and more.

Composed by Stella Sung, “Oceana” incorporates actual marine-animal sounds and highlights the pollution challenges faced by the world’s water.
