The UCF Celebrates the Arts steering committee is currently seeking suggestions for innovative and interdisciplinary arts activities for inclusion in the 2020 festival.

There are about 115 Art in State objects on campus. These range from a variety of forms such as painting, sculpture, ceramic, to some that are outdoor. The privately donated works are in the hundreds, most of which are kept in the vault at the UCF Art Gallery, however, some are displayed around campus outside.

Tampa native and graduate from the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies at Daytona State College Clarissa Bonet ’08 returns as the featured artist for the biennial alumni photography exhibition, Urban Constructs at the Southeast Museum of Photography. Bonet completed the 2+2 B.S. in Photography program at Daytona State College and the University of Central Florida before moving to Chicago and enrolling at Columbia College.

Fifty years after the cultural phenomenon that brought 400,000 people to a farm in upstate New York, associate professor George Weremchuk shares his knowledge about the festival in his “Survey of Rock Music” course.

UCF will read and celebrate “The Things They Carried” by Tim O’Brien. Activities will take place April 10-May 27, 2020.

The North Carolina resident, who is married to a Marine and had to be ready to move at any time, says UCF’s courses gave her the ability to remain mobile and study on the go.
