Director of Advancement in Arts Azela Santana and Director of Advancement in Humanities Chris Hixon received two of three 2022 UCF Advancement Core Values Awards.   

Emily Aycrigg has been awarded first place in the undergraduate division of the Jane Austen Society of North America’s annual essay contest for a paper she wrote in her UCF English class.

UCF faculty, alumni and students are featured among 50 artists exhibited at Snap! Gallery’s 2022 Florida Showcase. Now in its fifth year, the 2022 Florida Showcase celebrates Florida-based photographers and artists. The exhibition is currently on view through Jan. 14, 2023, at Snap! Downtown Orlando. 

The Ukrainian National Ballet left their hearts on the Pegasus Ballroom stage Monday night as a part of their world tour to spread awareness of ongoing war struggles.

Despite Artemis I’s launch delay, local students at the Academic Center for Excellence made the most of history professor Amy Foster’s expertise and learned more about science, space, and most importantly, safety.

Amy Foster, associate professor of history, was featured on WMFE’S “Are We There Yet?” podcast discussing NASA’s upcoming Artemis I launch and how it differs from the Apollo program more than 50 years ago. 

Orlando Sentinel has shared a story about Iryna Usova, a Ukranian musician and UCF alumna who has returned to Central Florida after fleeing her war-torn home country. Usova will be performing a benefit concert on Thursday, Aug. 25 at St. Luke’s Church in Oviedo.

After 15 years of advocacy, Mike Partain ’21MA helped secure the passage of the PACT Act, which will allow Marines and their families — including the history alum — who were exposed to toxic water at Camp Lejeune to seek damages.
