The annual UCF Celebrates the Arts festival offers a variety of free music, visual arts, humanities and kid-friendly events at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts from April 2 through 15.

“Home of the Brave,” a play crafted from interviews conducted with military kids in Hawaii, was produced on the UCF stage on Feb. 24 through Feb. 26.

Amy Larner Giroux, a UCF researcher who specializes in digitizing the physical space of the St. Augustine National Cemetery, came across two graves, titled “Six Unknown Indians.”

School of Visual Arts and Design alumna Cheryl Tall ’74 will display her artwork at the Sparks Gallery March 12-April 30.

UCF Alum Terrance Jackson ’13 is helping Barter Theatre in Virginia strengthen its relationship with communities of color as Barter’s Outreach and Black Stories Black Voices leader.

Amy Larner Giroux is working with a team of UCF researchers, the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes, the National Park Service, the Florida National Guard and Flagler College to uncover the experiences and identities of imprisoned Native American warriors.

Kibibi Mack-Shelton is joining the Department of History faculty as the new coordinator of the Africana Studies minor, an interdisciplinary program exploring contributions that Black individuals have made to civilization.

Tara Snyder’s five years of hard work and dedication allowed her to become one of the forty people trained in the Estill Method.

Several BFA Theatre students won awards for their area at the 55th KCACTF Region IV Convention and Competition and two students, Leyandra Cardoza and Erica Fox, move on to nationals.
