The Women's and Gender Studies program sponsored the reception "Chocolate, Chat and Coffee" for Faculty and Junior Affiliates on May 30th. The event was a collegial reception providing a space to share research and ongoing projects with each other. The next social event is a Wine and Cheese scheduled for later in the term. UCF Students Gain Insight Through Service-Learning

In June, a group of University of Central Florida students and faculty members traveled to San Cristóbal de las Casas, Mexico for a service-learning program at a Tzotzil school in Corazón de María. UCF collaborated with Universidad Autónoma de Chiapas (UNACH) on the project. Kevin Mora: One of Many Success Stories

Meet Kevin Mora, a UCF May 2017 graduate and former foster care child. Mora is staring a career at the Orlando Regional Medical Center microbiology lab.  His past in foster care was difficult but he focused in his schoolwork and thrived at UCF. He says, “You are forced to grow up fast; otherwise, you’ll just drown.” Kevin is among 11 former foster care children graduating from UCF this May.
