The program supports engagement with digital practices in dialectical, rhetorical, procedural, and critical-cultural fields.\u00a0 The T&amp;T program considers literacy in a broad sense, from traditional notions of writing and communication to more contemporary notions of computational and procedural literacy (e.g., using programming and new media installations as inventive methods for production, critique, and analysis).<\/p>\n<p>Since 2001, UCF\u2019s Texts and Technology doctoral program has excelled in supporting its students with an internationally recognized faculty and by offering a rigorous curriculum in a friendly environment. Students bring knowledge of a specific discipline and deepen their understanding of the subject through a digital lens. For those who have interests in multiple areas, T&amp;T is designed to facilitate customized studies. You will meet scholars and students from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"h3 font-slab-serif font-weight-bold\">Best of both worlds<\/h3>\n<p>The small program is fueled by the resources of a large research university.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"h3 font-slab-serif font-weight-bold\">Flexible schedule<\/h3>\n<p>The choice of a full-time or part-time schedule is yours. A full time student can finish in approximately four years. A student with a Fast Track waiver of 15-credits can finish in approximately three years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Milestones for Completion of Ph.D. Degree <\/b><span class=\"s1\">(for full-time students) <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\">Complete a First Year Review (scheduled with the Program Director following the conclusion of 18 credit hours in the program)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Complete Core Coursework and Electives (requires approximately two years, but Fast Track can reduce it to approximately one year)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Participate in an Internship<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Successfully pass the Candidacy Examination<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Develop and defend a Dissertation Prospectus (requires approximately one semester)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Write Dissertation (requires approximately one-two years)<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Submit a substantial scholarly article to a peer-reviewed journal<\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Defend the Dissertation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 class=\"h3 font-slab-serif font-weight-bold\">The price is right<\/h3>\n<p>UCF has been recognized by\u00a0<i>Forbes<\/i>, <i>The Princeton Review<\/i> and\u00a0<i>Kiplinger\u2019s<\/i>\u00a0for being one of the most affordable and best-value universities in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>In-state tuition and fees for the Texts and Technology program total $21,070.
