{"id":119,"date":"2012-01-26T20:16:00","date_gmt":"2015-08-18T19:17:44","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2022-12-01T16:06:55","modified_gmt":"2022-12-01T16:06:55","slug":"welcome","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cah.ucf.edu\/wac\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t\t<div class=\"jumbotron jumbotron-fluid bg-primary-lighter mb-0 py-5\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n<span class=\"lead\">The Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) Program, housed in the UCF Center for Writing Excellence, supports a generative, inclusive, and expansive culture of writing at the University of Central Florida.<\/span><br \/>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"jumbotron jumbotron-fluid bg-secondary mb-0 pt-5 pb-4\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<div class=\"container\"\n\t\t\t\t\t\t>\n\t\t\t\t\n<p>The WAC Program works with a range of campus partners to support UCF writers who are linguistically-, racially-, culturally-, technologically, and ability- diverse.  We support the development, implementation, and assessment of effective approaches to writing instruction across and within disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>Our recent programs include: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Disciplinary Workshops<\/strong> \u2013 specialized writing workshops developed in collaboration with faculty to support needs of students within degree programs and program curricula  <\/li>\n<li><strong>FCTL Summer Conference<\/strong> \u2013 conference events such as individual sessions, panel presentations, and tracks that engage selected stakeholders in multi-day development of writing initiatives <\/li>\n<li><strong>Graduate Pathways Workshops<\/strong> \u2013 sessions designed to support the writing development of graduate students in areas of continued need <\/li>\n<li><strong>National Day on Writing<\/strong> \u2013 campus-wide \u201cWrite Here, Write Now, Write On\u201d celebration of the roles of writing in our everyday lives held on the October 20th each year<\/li>\n<li><strong>WAC Fellows<\/strong> \u2013 faculty development program to support the development of writing outcomes and assessment strategies that are locally situated and rooted in research-based best practices<\/li>\n<li><strong>Writing Research Lab<\/strong> \u2013 dedicated lab space for writing-related projects and consultations on development of SOTL or research projects that investigate writing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Stakeholders across campus are invited to contact WAC Director, Laurie A.
