Two  graduate students in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures Spanish  M.A. program and one visiting instructor presented their research at the  conference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Matthew  Burner<\/strong> presented linguistic research in  Asturian adjective agreement as part of the beginning of his thesis research, <strong>Evelin  Pegoraro<\/strong> presented linguistic research on the formation of diphthongs in  Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, and <strong>Rita De Luca Guerriero <\/strong>presented  literary research involving works by both Da\u00edna Chaviano and Zo\u00e9 Vald\u00e9s. The titles of their research  presentations are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Matthew Burner: &ldquo;El neutro de materia: Focalizaci\u00f3n,  concordancia y genericidad&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li>  Evelin Pegoraro: &ldquo;La estructura sil\u00e1bica en espa\u00f1ol y  portugu\u00e9s en la formaci\u00f3n de diptongos&rdquo;<\/li>\n<li>Rita De Luca Guerriero: &ldquo;La percepci\u00f3n del cuerpo  espiritual en <em>El hombre, la hembra y el hambre<\/em> de Da\u00edna Chaviano y <em>La  nada cotidiana<\/em>de Zo\u00e9 Vald\u00e9s&rdquo; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"UCF was represented at the 8th Annual Graduate Portuguese and Hispanic Symposium (GRAPHSY) at Georgetown University in Washington, DC April 10-11.
