Light up the grill, hop in the pool or head to the beach! UCF Music’s Steel Band,\u00a0Black Steel<\/em>, has released their new album that is perfect for all of your “Summer Knights<\/em>.” The album features the music of Jimmy Buffet, The Beach Boys, Christopher Cross, UB40 and more!<\/p>\n

Black Steel<\/em> is lead by music faculty member, Kirk Gay. “Creating Summer Knights<\/em>\u00a0was a great learning experience for the members of the band. Recording in our new UCF Recording Studios was such a treat. Dr. Tommy Harrison was our recording technician and it was so great to work with him and have the students learn what it is like to go through the recording process. It was also fun to include some of our outstanding faculty and alumni by featuring solos by Professor Richard Drexler and Dean Jeff Moore and alumnus Ryan Boehme ’19 on the album. The album has a Florida\/Yacht Rock theme to it, so it is great to listen to while at the beach, pool or while enjoying the summer fun!”<\/p>\n

Summer Knights<\/em> can be streamed on Spotify<\/a>, Apple Music<\/a> and Youtube<\/a>. CDs will be available soon.<\/p>\n
