Congratulations are in order for our very own Ella Dali Raynor for winning the 2017 CCCC Scholars for the Dream award. Ella is a graduate teaching assistant who has been with Writing and Rhetoric since fall of 2015 and is currently an MA student in the Writing and Rhetoric Master’s degree program. Ella is one of only ten students nationwide to win this prestigious and highly competitive award.<\/p>\n

To be eligible for this award, one must be an emerging scholar of a historically underrepresented group and a presenter at the annual Conference on College Composition and Communication. The Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) is a constituent organization within the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).
\nThe Scholars for the Dream award includes travel funds, membership to NCTE and CCCC, and an awards ceremony and reception attended by the executive committee, past winners of the award, and colleagues nationwide. The award selection committee considers originality of research, significance of pedagogical or theoretical contributions to the field, and potential for larger, subsequent projects.<\/p>\n

Ella will be presenting her work titled “Articulating Feminist Cultural Knowledge: Resistance, Agency, and Discursive Space” during a session to discuss the female identity beyond motherhood.
