Associate professor of religion and cultural studies Ann Gleig co-led the second workshop of the Abuse in Religious Contexts Project at the University of Leeds. This workshop focused on abuse in Buddhist contexts, drawing on Gleig’s current research in-progress, which is a book under advance contract with Yale University Press.<\/p>\n
Gleig collaborated with Amy Langenberg of Eckerd College, another researcher of Buddhism. About the pair, author Johanna Stiebert says “[they]… complement each other in terms of expertise. Amy has training in classical Buddhism and Buddhist literary sources whereas Ann identifies as an ethnographer of contemporary Buddhism, primarily in US contexts.”<\/p>\n
