This summer, UCF senior Kendal Asbury will be shipping off to New York City to intern with The New York Times. Asbury received this opportunity through the Dow Jones News Fund summer internship program, making her one of eighty-one interns selected for this program, and only one of four to be working at The Times. Her English literature and journalism double major braced her to achieve this high honor and made her stand out of the nearly 1,050 applicant crowd. “I am thrilled to represent the University of Central Florida in a national program and at one of the most renowned newsrooms in the world.” Asbury will serve as a multi-platform editing intern on The Times’ flexible editing desk in the national newsroom.
