{"id":795,"date":"2015-04-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-04-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cah.ucf.edu\/languages\/2015\/04\/01\/fern-ndez-rubiera-presents-at-university-of-oslo-conference\/"},"modified":"2017-04-28T20:36:17","modified_gmt":"2017-04-28T20:36:17","slug":"fern-ndez-rubiera-presents-at-university-of-oslo-conference","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/cah.ucf.edu\/languages\/news\/fern-ndez-rubiera-presents-at-university-of-oslo-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Fern\u00e1ndez-Rubiera Presents at University of Oslo Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On March 9-10, Francisco Fern\u00e1ndez-Rubiera and Christine Meklenborg Salvesen presented at the <em>Traces of History<\/em> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hf.uio.no\/ilos\/english\/research\/projects\/traces-of-history\/events\/conferences\/workshop\/Workshop%20March%202015\">conference\/workshop<\/a> at the University of Oslo.<\/p>\n<p>The paper presented, &#8220;V2 and Enclisis: A Uniform Analysis for Germanic and (Some) Romance Varieties,&#8221; provides a syntactic account to explain the connection between V2, a specific restriction on the placement of the finite verb in a sentence, in Germanic languages and clitic position alternations in Western Iberian languages, specifically Asturian.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hf.uio.no\/ilos\/english\/research\/projects\/traces-of-history\/\"><em>Traces History<\/em> project<\/a> has been funded for three and a half years with $1.1 million by the Norwegian Research Council.
