The lecture is part of the September exhibit <a href=\"http:\/\/exhibit\/caribbean-expressions\/\"><em>Caribbean Expressions: Art, Life and Culture<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Niell is assistant professor of Spanish Colonial and African Diaspora art history and visual culture at Florida State University. His articles have appeared in the peer-reviewed journals, <em>Cultural Landscapes<\/em>, the<em> Bulletin of Latin American Research<\/em>, <em>The Latin Americanist<\/em>, and the <em>Colonial Latin American Review<\/em>.
