Thaxton joined our team as an editor over the summer, but she&#8217;s no stranger to TFR.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<p dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify\">Thaxton&#8217;s poetry and creative nonfiction&#8211;rooted in Florida landscape and history&#8211;explore the individual\u2019s place in family and community, women\u2019s issues, mental illness, and silenced voices of the past and present. Her books of poetry include <em>Getaway Girl<\/em>, <em>The Terrible Wife<\/em>, and <em>Mud Song<\/em>. She&#8217;s been awarded two Florida Book Awards, the Jeffrey E. smith Editors Prize at <em>The Missouri Review<\/em> for nonfiction, and the T.S. Eliot Poetry Prize. Her poems and essays have been published in <em>Pithead Chapel<\/em>, <em>New Letters<\/em>, <em>Chattahoochee Review<\/em>, <em>Hayden&#8217;s Ferry<\/em>, <em>The Missouri Review<\/em>, and other literary journals. She has an MA in English and an MFA in Creative Writing.
