We are not Florida-exclusive, though we embrace our state and its many communities. Our magazine is a home for the realistic and the weird alike. We love when the ordinary proves extraordinary or the wild is tamed. We love anything with sentences that sing. We love it all, and we&#8217;ve been loving good writing for over 50 years. <em>The Florida Review<\/em> has been in print since 1972, and in 2017, we added a new literary supplement,\u00a0<em>Aquifer: The Florida Review Online<\/em>, which features new work on a biweekly basis, along with author interviews, book reviews, and graphic narratives.<\/p>\n<p>Please see our <a href=\"https:\/\/cah.ucf.edu\/floridareview\/submit\/\">Submissions<\/a> page for information on our publishing interests.<\/p>\n<p>In support of emerging writers, our print issues are sent to agents who represent literary fiction and nonfiction at the following agencies: William Morris Endeavor, The Frances Goldin Literary Agency, Creative Artists Agency, The Friedrich Agency, Trellis Literary Management, &amp; The Book Group. We nominate for The Pushcart Prize and submit work to all of the annual poetry and prose anthologies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-8338 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/cah.ucf.edu\/floridareview\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/43\/2024\/03\/CLMPlogo-300x183-300x183-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"183\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Educational Mission<\/h3>\n<p><em>The Florida Review<\/em> has always involved the faculty and students of the University of Central Florida. Since 2005 UCF has offered a regular practicum course for students interested in helping with the numerous tasks required to publish <em>The Florida Review<\/em>. Undergraduate and graduate students work for\u00a0<em>The Florida Review<\/em> print magazine. Here, these students:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>study and understand the nature of <em>The Florida Review<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Aquifer<\/em>\u00a0and what we publish;<\/li>\n<li>are trained to assist with proofreading and copyediting;<\/li>\n<li>work on fundraising, marketing, social media, and website projects;<\/li>\n<li>learn what it means to be a good literary citizen;<\/li>\n<li>learn to navigate WordPress, Submittable, NewPages, and other useful online platforms; and<\/li>\n<li>read and discuss fiction, nonfiction, and poetry submissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This high-impact, experiential training familiarizes our students with the high level of competition they&#8217;ll face as writers; at the same time, students gain real-world editorial and marketing experience.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a UCF student interested in taking CRW 4724: Florida Review Editing, you may enroll via myucf.
