calcium white against all that green or perhaps<\/p>\n
blueing like cyanotype, and I\u2019m considering<\/p>\n
the quality of sound the water might\u2019ve made<\/p>\n
through the window, if the window was open,<\/p>\n
and whether a note was on Will\u2019s chest<\/p>\n
or in the passenger or if he thought about me ever,<\/p>\n
me who knew Will only from a distance<\/p>\n
in the middle school cafeteria, Will who<\/p>\n
will only have existed for seventeen years forever<\/p>\n
and the water, if proximity to that pulsing wound of earth<\/p>\n
made of dying a kindness, if death is a kindness,<\/p>\n
and I\u2019m making Will about myself,<\/p>\n
who I also didn\u2019t know well, myself who,<\/p>\n
seven or eight years ago, was a child, too,<\/p>\n
who learned then that children could die alone,<\/p>\n
that many of us will die alone, alone<\/p>\n
