On Our Date I Forget the \u201cBirds of Prey\u201d Exhibit is Closed Sunday<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Grace is just life
\ncaught in the throat. Imprinted
\nand broken winged.
\nCrow hit by my Toyota, muddy.
\nPeace<\/em> and rehab<\/em> three-syllable words<\/p>\n

when slurred. Grace of certainty
\nin the sun\u2019s smallness\u2014small enough<\/p>\n

to set behind your hand,
\nyet still lift like a hand
\non her waist while facing a dark nerve.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Her to touch, a crow
\nnot very much a crow, wingless
\nwho must hop from branch to branch<\/p>\n

as crippled form of grace,
\nas chapel wind is pious, bows
\nin gospel like fletching
\npost-launch, inalterable flight.
\nWho dares claim the feathers
\nof such a fucked-up bird for<\/p>\n

violence?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Rhetorical questions claim
\npower from the empty, ellipses
\nlit like street lamps, spacing
\nregular pools through dark.
\nAnyways you forgot
\nyour walking boots. Leave
\nlike the cut that gliding scissors
\npass. You came into this life
\nlike chains deliver the flightless.
\nLike silence delivers a stillborn grace.<\/p>\n

Touchpoints<\/h3>\n

The wanting child breaks a bowl
\nbefore he loses his first tooth. Research says<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

we regress before moving forward<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

the way white tides marshal themselves<\/p>\n

before they break. A circle<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

opens into a spiral and the trauma<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

opens into an echo. But I don\u2019t wanna<\/p>\n

echo. But despite the begging<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

watch the hitting segue into bars<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

and showers full of right heat. The way<\/p>\n

washing becomes a sloughing<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

or a person becomes a lesson.<\/p>\n
