My poems taste terrible, too many chewed up<\/p>\n

Metaphors and overcooked analogies.<\/p>\n

They need more salt, less narcissism.<\/p>\n

More technicality, like practicing to how perfectly<\/p>\n

Poach an egg, or be consistent with verb tenses.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I need a bigger pot with a sturdy lid<\/p>\n

To contain this wild free verse.<\/p>\n

Maybe throw it live in boiling water,<\/p>\n

Like lobster.<\/p>\n

Garnish it with pretty diction,<\/p>\n

Say it\u2019s modeled after the classics.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

One day I\u2019ll be the Gordon Ramsay of the page<\/p>\n

Dragging syntax from hell into my notebook.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll subvert entire stanzas into submission,<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll say: \u201cYes, poet\u201d and \u201cNo, poet\u201d<\/p>\n

And \u201cThat\u2019s not the way I\u2019ve been taught, poet.\u201d<\/p>\n
