She becomes the 16<sup>th<\/sup> recipient of the annual award initiated in 2002. The award defrays some of the costs of research and production associated with her scholarly research and production of her book-length manuscript <cite>Self-Possessed: Gothic Agency and the Haunting of Liberalism in British Fiction, 1794-1897<\/cite>. This book should make a significant contribution to the scholarship concerning the debate about the centrality of the Gothic to conceptions of liberal individualism in the late 18<sup>th<\/sup> and 19<sup>th<\/sup> centuries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Anna Maria Jones received UCF&#8217;s Women&#8217;s Research Center 2010 Award in the Arts and Humanities.
