However, a more important aspect of the program is helping students to make a more intelligent and informed choice than they would be able to do as undergraduates. To this end, the program includes such elements as the <a href=\"https:\/\/cah.ucf.edu\/english\/graduate-lct\/first-year-review\/\">first-year review<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/cah.ucf.edu\/english\/graduate-lct\/spring-symposium\/\">symposium<\/a>, and an emphasis on professionalization through the Capstone course.<\/p>\n<p>We do not envision all or even most of our students entering a Ph.D. program.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, the majority of our students are at least interested in the prospect, and it thus contingent on our program to provide something resembling the initial stages of a doctoral program.
